Living in a small space we found you don't need half of the things all the parent magazines tell you. You have to work with what you've got and we've saved space and  money by doing it this way.  A baby monitor We have never owned one because we are one door away from the bedroom to the front room we check on our children regularly, i don't see the point in having one in a small flat.
